Competition in dual-channel supply chains: The manufacturers' channel selection

چکیده
Abstract Innovative selling channels have brought about opportunities as well challenges for upstream manufacturers. The past few years witnessed both the success and failure of manufacturers with different channel strategies. To explore rationale strategies in various contexts, we develop a model to analyze manufacturer's selection decision among three strategies, i.e., direct-channel strategy, retail-channel dual-channel strategy consisting direct retail channels. rests on differentiation terms consumers’ preferences operating costs Specifically, incorporate action competitor track down its influence focal preference. Our research clarifies role competition market offers insights into competitive nature business real life. Results show that preference depends not only channels’ but also competitor's strategy. We find symmetric can adopt asymmetric Nash equilibria there are situations where no equilibrium exists. characterize game based exogenous parameters model.

Channel Selection and Coordination in Dual-Channel Supply Chains
This paper investigates the influence of channel structures and channel coordination on the supplier, the retailer, and the entire supply chain n the context of two single-channel and two dual-channel supply chains. We extensively study two Pareto zone concepts: channel-adding Pareto one and contract-implementing Pareto zone. In the channel-adding Pareto zone, both the supplier and the retailer...

Purpose: This paper investigates the influence of channel structures and channel coordination on the supplier, the retailer, and the entire supply chain in the context of two different kinds of marketing models: the common retailer and the exclusive shop. Design/methodology/approach: With suppliers who manufacture the alternative commodities and retailers in the dual-channel supply chains as th...
متن کاملAltruism and Pricing Strategy in Dual-Channel Supply Chains
With the development of behavioral operational management, human behavior such as altruism, fairness and trust has received considerable attention. This paper studies the effect of altruism on retailer’s and manufacturer’s pricing strategy in two classic dual-channel supply chains by presenting Stackelberg game models. The analysis shows that the player’s altruism preference strongly affects th...
متن کاملAnalysis of a Dominant Retailer Dual-Channel Supply Chain under Customers’ Channel Preference: The α-Branch and Bound Solution Algorithm
This paper investigates the Stackelberg equilibrium for pricing and ordering decisions in a dominant retailer dual-channel supply chain. In a dual-channel sales network, the products are sold through both a traditional, physical retailer and a direct Internet channel. It is assumed that the retailer is the leader and the powerful member of the supply chain has the market power and acts as a lea...
متن کاملChannel strategy and pricing in a dual-channel with competition
This study deals with the impact of channel strategy and channel format selection on the manufacturer’s, the retailer’s, the e-tailer’s, and the system-wide profits. We consider the problem of one manufacturer selling one product in the market through two competing channels: a physical channel (retailer) and an internet channel (e-tailer). We assume the manufacturer uses two commonly applied co...
